Borussia Dortmund host Manchester City for the second leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie on Wednesday.

Pep Guardiola’s men won the first leg 2-1 last week, with Phil Foden’s 90th-minute winner cancelling out Marco Reus’ last equaliser.

Kevin De Bruyne put Man City ahead after 19 minutes, while the English side dominated possession (62%) and chances created (11 shots, five on target).

Dortmund came from behind to beat VfB Stuttgart 2-1 on Saturday, thanks to goals from Jude Bellingham, Marco Reus and Ansgar Knauff.

However, that was only Dortmund’s second win in their previous five Bundesliga games, with recent defeats coming against Bayern Munich and Eintracht Frankfurt.

Dortmund remain fifth in the German top-flight, seven points behind fourth-place Frankfurt and a whopping 19 points shy of Bayern.

If Dortmund are to get the better of Man City, Erling Haaland will need to break a rare three-game goalless streak.

The 20-year-old sensation has bagged ten goals and two assists in seven Champions League appearances this season.

On the flip side, Man City suffered just their fourth Premier League defeat of the season last time out, going down 2-1 to ten-man Leeds United.

Guardiola named a much-changed side for Saturday’s clash, but despite playing the entire second half with a one-man advantage, City were unable to prevent defeat.

Still, Manchester City remain miles clear at the Premier League summit and will surely clinch the title in the coming weeks.

Remarkably, Guardiola’s men have only conceded two goals in nine Champions League games this season.

On top of that, they have scored 19 goals in reply, averaging 2.1 goals per game in the Champions League this term.

Head-to-head Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City have faced each other three times since 2012, with Man City losing just once.

Following a 1-1 draw, Borussia Dortmund managed to beat City 1-0 during the 2012/13 UCL campaign, although Guardiola’s side gained the upper hand in the H2H last week.

Team news: Injured duo Sergio Aguero and Aymeric Laporte will miss out for Manchester City on Wednesday.

Dortmund will be without Marcel Schmelzer, Axel Witsel, Dan-Axel Zagadou, Youssoufa Moukoko and Jadon Sancho.

Dortmund are likely to push Man City close again on Wednesday, especially seeing as Guardiola’s side suffered a rare loss last time out.

Forebet predicts that Dortmund and Man City will produce a low-scoring draw in the second leg. However, the English giants are tipped to advance to the last four.
