Manchester City could book their spot in the Champions League Round of 16 with two games to spare when visit Greece to play Olympiacos on Wednesday.

Pep Guardiola’s side have already taken maximum points from their opening three games, with Olympiacos third in Group C on three points.

Olympiacos’ Champions League campaign got off to the best possible start. The Greek side beat Marseille 1-0 on Matchday 1, but it’s been all downhill since then.

After losing 2-0 to Porto, Olympiacos were thrashed 3-0 by Man City on Matchday 3, only managing to register one shot on target at the Etihad Stadium.

Still, Olympiacos remain unbeaten on home soil. Six wins and one draw from their opening seven Super League games see them sitting three points clear at the summit of the Greek top flight.

Perhaps more impressively, Olympiacos have scored 15 league goals this term and have only conceded one in reply.

Needless to say, manager Pedro Martins will be hoping that his team can carry their domestic form onto the European stage.

On the other hand, Man City have been struggling in the Premier League. Indeed, Guardiola’s men have only managed to win one of their previous four league games.

A 2-0 defeat to Tottenham on Saturday means that Man City find themselves in the bottom half of the table, having taken just 12 points from a possible 24.

Guardiola’s side are usually known for scoring plenty of goals, yet they have only managed to net ten goals in eight Premier League outings this term. The Cityzens are lacking a cutting edge in attack.

However, the Champions League has been a welcome break for Man City this year. They have already beaten every team in their group, scoring nine goals while conceding just once along the way.

After cruising past Olympiacos at the beginning of November, Man City will surely be confident of producing another dominant display against the Greeks.

Head-to-head: Goals from Ferran Torres, Gabriel Jesus and Joao Cancelo saw Man City beat Olympiacos with ease last time out. A similar scoreline is expected this time around.

Team news: Ahmed Hassan, Youssef El Arabi and Vasilios Sourlis are all doubts for Olympiacos due to coronavirus, while Mathieu Valbuena could miss out with a thigh problem.

As for Man City, injured trio Fernandinho, Nathan Ake and Benjamin Mendy are all likely to remain sidelined for the foreseeable future.

Man City have been unstoppable in the Champions League this season, so Olympiacos are expected to struggle on Tuesday.

Forebet predicts that Man City will produce another high-scoring victory in Europe this week, with over 4.5 match goals likely to be scored.
