2019/20 Champions League group H has the makings of being very close in terms of which 2 teams will qualify for the knockout stages of the competition. All 4 teams will still believe they have a chance of making it coming into match day three. However, the pressure is on for Lille who really need to take maximum points from their home match against Valencia on Wednesday night.

Lille come into this game sitting bottom of the group having yet to win a point in the Champions League this season. The French club started with an away match against Ajax in Amsterdam and lost the game 3-0. Things looked to be improving as they went into the final 15 minutes of their home game against Chelsea with the score at 1-1.

However, it was Chelsea who found the winning goal and Lille lost their second match in a row to remain bottom of the group.

Trends show Lille have lost each of their last 4 Champions League games and have failed to win in their last 5 attempts. They have lost at home against Porto and Chelsea and away to Porto and Ajax.  You must go back to an away qualifying game against grasshoppers to find the last time Lille have won a Champions League match.

Lille have lost 5 and drawn one of their last 6 home Champions League games and have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of those matches.

Valencia make the trip to France with 3 points to their name from their 2 Champions League matches this season. They started the campaign with a tremendous 1-0 away win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. This was a shock result in the group but Valencia could not build on their victory and suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat at home to Ajax in their second group game.

Valencia were 2-0 down at half time and could not get back into the game, conceding a third goal in the second half.

Trends show Valencia have lost only 2 of their last 6 Champions League matches but have won only one of their last 6 away games in the competition. They have kept just two clean sheets in those 6 matches and scored only 2 goals themselves.

Team news and Lille Have doubts over the fitness of 3 players, with Renato Sanches, Timothy Weah and Zeki Celik the players hoping to recover in time for the match.

Valencia make the trip to France with doubts over 4 of their players. Gaya, Cristiano Piccini, Goncalo Guedes and Rodrigo are the players struggling, with Gaya being the closest to recovery.

This has the makings of being a very close game and it is difficult to split the teams. We could be in for a low scoring match, with a draw being the most likely outcome.
