It's the second and decisive leg of the Champions League first round of qualifying for next season here as Linfield of Northern Ireland welcomes The New Saints to National Football Stadium at Windsor Park this Wednesday evening.

It was a tense encounter in the first leg of action between these two this time last week, but it was the Welsh side that left with the advantage in a 1-0 victory at the Venue in Wales.

Ryan Brobbel scored the game's only goal that day, and it now gives The New Saints a massive boost in the second leg.

Linfield did manage to hold their own in the first leg, but the ruthlessness in attack the Cymru Premier side have shown all season long was on full display with them managing to take one of their five efforts on goal in the end with the second half effort from Brobbel.

Nevertheless, it sets up another exciting match here, with the game potentially set to go either way.

As the most successful side in the Welsh football pyramid, The New Saints are vying to get themselves into Europe's elite competition and are so far doing so with plenty of attacking confidence.

In fact, they have breezed to yet another title in the Welsh top flight with a sensational 21-point lead over second-placed Bala Town.

In truth, after such a fantastic run throughout the first few months meaning the club went unbeaten, there was very little doubting them in winning yet another title, as The New Saints ended up losing just twice all season long in the league, registering a stunning 86 goals along the way and letting in an impressive 26 goals.

It means they were the highest scorers and the best defensive side in Wales, and far and above the best side in their homeland.

As for Linfield, they too won the title in their respective league to make it four wins on the spin since winning the title back in 2018/19.

Things were very different for them in that one, however, with the club only edging past Cliftonville by a single point in the title race, although they did lose just three times all season long and register a fantastic 24 wins along the way.

Linfield also had a sensational defensive record with 24 goals let in from 38 games, and this must be on full display here if they are to win. Forebet, however, predicts another win for The New Saints and for the game to see under 2.5 goals.
