Lazio host Club Brugge on Tuesday for a straight shootout in the Champions League, with the winner qualifying for the Round of 16.

As we head into Matchday 6, Lazio sit second in Group F on nine points, while third-place Club Brugge have seven points.

Of course, a draw would be enough to see Lazio advance, but a win for either side would see them book their spot in the knockout stages.

Lazio are yet to lose a Champions League game this season, picking up two wins and three draws along the way.

The Italian side kicked off their campaign with an impressive 3-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund, but they have only managed to win one of their previous four European outings.

Lazio head into Tuesday’s clash on the back of a 2-1 victory over Spezia, which took them up to seventh in the Serie A table.

Unsurprisingly, Ciro Immobile got on the scoresheet yet again last time out. The striker already has ten goals in 11 appearances this term, including four in three Champions League matches.

It’s fair to say that Lazio have made an indifferent start to the 2020/21 campaign. However, Simone Inzaghi’s men have only lost three of their 15 games in all competitions.

Meanwhile, Club Brugge have won two of their five European matches this season, along with one draw and two defeats.

The Belgian side have done the double over Zenit in the group stage, winning 2-1 in Russia on Matchday 1, before claiming an easy 3-0 victory last week.

That said, back-to-back 3-0 defeats to Dortmund prove that Brugge are nowhere near the level of the top teams in the competition.

Still, a domestic five-game unbeaten streak means Brugge are only one points behind leaders Genk in the Belgian Pro League.

Not only are Brugge the third-highest scorers in the division (30), they also have the best defensive record (11).

Head-to-head: These two sides played out a 1-1 draw back on Matchday 2. Joaquin Correa gave Lazio an early lead, before Hans Venaken equalised from the penalty spot.

Brugge enjoyed 60% and racked up 11 shots (three on target) in Belgium, while Lazio recorded eight shots (three on target).

Team news: Senad Lulic and Silvio Proto remain long-term absentees for Lazio, while Vedat Muriqi is also expected to miss Tuesday’s clash.

On the other side, Brugge will be without injured centre-back Matej Mitrovic for the trip to the Italian capital.

Lazio may boast the stronger squad on paper, but Brugge will be confident of snatching another draw against the Italians.

Forebet predicts that both teams will score on Tuesday, with the draw the most likely outcome.
