RB Leipzig host Paris Saint-Germain on matchday 3 in the Champions League on Wednesday night. The Group H match between the clubs is a rematch of one of the semifinals from last August’s Champions League tournament.

Paris Saint-Germain head into the game on a fine run. Since losing on matchday 1 of the Champions League to Manchester United, 2-1, Paris Saint-Germain are on a three-game winning streak. Thomas Tuchel’s side have won three straight games to nil, outscoring opponents 9-0.

Julian Nagelsmann’s Red Bulls have lost back-to-back games in all competitions. On matchday 2 of the Champions League, RB Leipzig were thrashed by Manchester United 5-0. At the weekend, the Germans followed up the Champions League loss with a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Borussia Monchengladbach.

Tuchel is without Neymar for the game. The Brazilian is once again on the sidelines after injuring his groin against Istanbul Basaksehir on Champions League matchday 2.

Making Tuchel’s selection headache worse is the possible absence of Kylian Mbappe. The Frenchman went off at the weekend in Paris Saint-Germain's 3-0 win at Nantes. He is a doubt going into Wednesday night.

Nagelsmann will hope captain Marcel Sabitzer is fit to play a full 90 minutes. Sabitzer has appeared in just three games in all competitions for the club.

Defenders Lukas Klostermann and Konrad Laimer are both ruled out for the game. First-choice right-wing-back Nordi Mukiele could be back in time for the game after missing two matches. Back-up wing-back and midfielder Tyler Adams could miss the game due to a ligament issue.

RB Leipzig left wing-back Angelino was nullified by Manchester United on matchday 2 after scoring twice versus Istanbul Basaksehir. Paris Saint-Germain are unlikely to mirror RB Leipzig’s formation like Manchester United did, so Angelino could find space down the flank.

Paris Saint-Germain stumbled in the early part of the season but are now hitting on all cylinders. They have scored 26 goals in all competitions, averages 2.36 per game. RB Leipzig average 1.89 goals scored per game in all competitions.

Wednesday night’s game should be high-scoring as both sides are able to find the back of the net. Paris Saint-Germain should keep their good form going in spite of Neymar and possibly Mbappe missing the game.

The French club should claim three more points as RB Leipzig fall to a third straight loss in all competitions. Both teams should score and over 2.5 goals tallied in this one.
