The 2017/18 Champions League Round of 16 continues this week and one of the most evenly poised ties is between Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus.

You must go back to 2010/11 to find the last time Tottenham Hotspur reached the quarter-final of the Champions League and only once in their history have they gone beyond that stage of the competition.

The 2-2 draw in the first leg in Turin gives them a good chance of reaching the last eight this season but Juventus will arrive in London with a wealth of experience in these situations and confident of getting the result required to progress.

Tottenham Hotspur eased to a win over Huddersfield Town in the Premier League on the weekend and the comfortable 2-0 victory sets them up nicely for this match.  Trends show Tottenham Hotspur are unbeaten in their last seventeen games in all competitions and have won each of the last seven at home.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men have lost only one of their last twenty-two matches on home soil and the fears of having to play at Wembley this season have all but disappeared.

Tottenham Hotspur are unbeaten in the Champions League this season and have faced some tough matches at Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid and Juventus.  Having come back from 2-0 down in Turin, Tottenham Hotspur will be feeling good about their chances of defeating Juventus at Wembley, especially having already turned over Real Madrid at the home of English football.

Juventus had a tough match on the weekend as they faced Lazio in Rome.  However, despite resting some first-choice players, Paulo Dybala popped up with a superb last-minute winner to take maximum points.

It was a classic Juventus performance and they did not look like winning the match but having kept things tight throughout the 90 minutes, a late goal sealed the win.

Max Allegri will be looking for something similar in this match and Juventus have won their last ten away matches in all competitions.  Trends show they have kept nine clean sheets in those ten away games, conceding just a single goal at Hellas Verona.

However, form has not been great in the Champions League and while Juventus are unbeaten in their last six games, they have won just one of the last four.  Away from home, they were defeated 3-0 at Barcelona and held to a 1-1 draw in Sporting Lisbon this season.

Looking ahead to the team news and Tottenham Hotspur will be without central defender Toby Alderweireld but every other player is available, and the hosts should be very close to full strength.

Juventus are hoping to welcome back Mattia De Sciglio and Gonzalo Higuain, both of whom missed the match at Lazio on the weekend.  Giorgio Chiellini will come back into the defence but Alex Sandro, Stephan Lichsteiner, Federico Bernardeschi, Medhi Benatia, and Juan Cuadrado are injured.

Juventus know how to keep matches tight but Tottenham Hotspur have the advantage and know the visitors need to score a goal.  This should see things open up a little and with some great attacking players on show, it would not be a surprise to see both teams scoring.

However, with the home advantage in this second leg and having already defeated Real Madrid at Wembley, Tottenham Hotspur start as slight favourites to win the match and progress to the quarter-final of the Champions League.
