Celtic and Atletico Madrid will clash at Celtic Park this Wednesday in the Champions League in a tense Group E with the Scottish champions sitting bottom of their group once again with the Spanish side top.

It’s once again been a rough ride for Celtic in the Champions League and they are staring in the face of heading out of Europe’s elite competition.

So far, the Hoops have suffered two defeats with a recent loss to Lazio being one of their most brutal in recent Champions League seasons.

They were 1-0 up after a finish from Kyogo Furuhashi once more, but a finish from Matias Vecino 20 minutes later brought the game to 1-1.

Then, after Celtic being more than deserving of a point throughout the game, Pedro would score in the 95th minute of the match to seal all three points for Lazio and keep Celtic bottom of the group.

Brendan Rodgers' men were also beaten by Feyenoord in their first Champions League encounter 2-0, as Gustaf Lagerbielke was sent off in the 63rd minute of the game before Odin Thiago Holm received his marching orders just five minutes later.

Despite the terrible run of form in Europe once again, Celtic are sitting top of the Scottish Premiership and already clear of Rangers in second by seven points and staring in the face of yet another league title.

What's more, the league leaders are still unbeaten in the Scottish Premiership and dropped just two points from the nine matches.

The only defeat the Hoops have suffered this season has been in the Scottish Cup, where Kilmarnock upset the odds with a 1-0 home victory over them.

Celtic are also on a six-game winning run after a 0-0 draw with St. Johnstone, defeating Rangers at Ibrox 1-0 before victories over Dundee United, Motherwell, Kilmarnock and Hearts where the club have bagged a combined 15 goals.

As for Atletico, they have won six games in a row after a tough start to the new season. This has seen the club defeat Real Madrid 3-1 in a local derby before beating Osasuna, Cadiz, Real Sociedad and Celta Vigo.

In the Champions League, Diego Simone’s men are top with four points after a 1-1 draw with Lazio in their first outing that saw Pablo Barrios score. The other game saw Simone’s side defeat Feyenoord 3-2 at home.

Forebet predicts a win here for Atletico and for the game to see under 2.5 goals.
