Rangers and Servette are set to clash in the first of two legs in the Champions League qualifying rounds with the Scottish giants getting off to the worst possible start in the 2023/24 season with a defeat on the opening day of the Scottish Premiership.

Off the back of what was a poor season once again for the Gers when they let the league title slip back into the hands of their rivals Celtic, the club went on to suffer a loss to Kilmarnock on the first day of the season.

Rangers lost to Kilmarnock on the road with just four shots on target that day with the club losing in a second half goal from the home side.

The Teddy Bears also had just 18 shots in total that day and had 69% of the ball. Ultimately, they just couldn't find the end product.

It was also a topsy-turvy preseason for the Gers as they managed to beat Hallescher 2-0 in a friendly around a month ago before losing to Premier League high flyers Newcastle United.

The Scottish side would also go on to defeat Hamburger SV 2-1 as well, but they finished their preseason campaign with a loss to Greek champions Olympiacos 3-1, as they then drew with Hoffenheim in a 2-2 clash.

Despite losing out on another Scottish Premiership title, Rangers did still manage to accumulate 92 points last season from 38 games and win 29 of their matches by losing one more game than Celtic (4).

At the same time, the club scored a very impressive 93 goals and let in just 37.

However, you have to be faultless in the Scottish Premiership if you are to win the title over an Old Firm rival, and the Gers have already started this season in poor form.

As for Servette, they are sitting with one win from three games in the Swiss Super League so far, but after drawing twice, they are also coming into this match with an unbeaten record.

The club have also gone on to score six times and let in four goals.

The Swiss side also head into this one having edged past Genk in the Champions League second qualifying round, as they drew 1-1 in leg one before a 2-2 draw with the club in Belgium.

Servette would go on to win on penalties in the end with 10 men on the field.

Forebet predicts a win for Servette and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
