Víkingur Reykjavík of Iceland will welcome Sweden's Malmo to the Víkingsvöllur as they look to overturn a 3-2 defeat in the first leg of the Champions League first round qualifiers after such a thrilling encounter in the first 90 minutes.

Martin Olsson got the game off to a flying start with a goal inside 16 minutes at the Eleda Stadion, before Vikingur requalised through Kristall Mani Ingason. Ola Toivonen brought Malmo back in front, and a third goal of the day for the Swedish giants saw them go 3-1 in front after Veijko Birmancevic's well-taken goal.

However, Vikingur have given themselves a fighting chance to get into the second round of qualifying with Helgi Guojonsson scoring in the dying seconds of the game with them now needing to overturn a 3-2 deficit.

It could turn out to be a massive goal, but the Icelandic side will be without their goalscorer, Ingason, as he was sent off stunningly just one minute after scoring the equaliser for Vikingur.

Both sides are reaching the halfway stage of their domestic leagues heading into this one, and each come into this fixture with a point to prove as they trail top spot in their domestic battles.

Vikingur are currently six points behind Breioablik in the Icelandic top flight, with them having won an impressive eight games from 12 fixtures, registering just three defeats along the way and scoring a commendable 28 goals with just 18 conceded.

On the other hand, with them defending the Urvalsdelid this season after beating Breiodablik to the title by a point last season, they remain in need of an improvement in their form heading into this one and the rest of the domestic season.

Malmo, however, are sitting down in fourth in the Allsvenskan with a four-point gap to make up on Hacken in the league.

What's more, they too are defending their own league title this season, but with 17 goals scored and 12 conceded being the third-lowest goals difference inside the top 10 of the Allsvenskan, there is hope that Vikingur can turnaround their one-goal deficit, although it's important to remember that their two away goals do not count as away goals in the old format.

Malmo did also score three goals once again over the weekend, as they beat Varbergs BoIS 3-0 on home soil, and they are entering this game in excellent form once more.

Forebet predicts a win for Malmö FF and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
