AC Milan welcome Atletico Madrid to the San Siro on Tuesday, with both sides searching for their first Champions League win of the season.

Atletico were held to a goalless draw by Porto on Matchday 1, meaning they currently sit second in Group B.

Milan, on the other hand, were beaten 3-2 by Liverpool a fortnight ago, meaning they find themselves bottom of the group – one point behind Atletico.

The Italians came from behind to lead 2-1 against Liverpool on Matchday 1, only to concede two second-half goals and lose the game.

It is worth remembering, however, that Liverpool racked up a whopping 23 shots while enjoying 62% of the ball on home soil.

Milan have played three Serie A games since then, picking up two wins and a draw to maintain their unbeaten start to the domestic campaign.

The Rossoneri have taken 16 points from a possible 18 in Serie A this term and have only conceded three goals along the way (0.5 goals per game).

Meanwhile, Atletico suffered their first defeat of the season on Saturday – going down 1-0 to Deportivo Alaves.

Despite seeing a massive 72% possession last weekend, Diego Simeone’s men only managed to register a single shot on target – despite boasting a forward duo of Luis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann.

Atleti were also frustrated by Porto in their opening UCL match of the season, recording a goalless draw at Estadio Wanda Metropolitano.

Still, let’s not forget that Simeone’s side have only lost one of their eight games across all competitions this term.

Head-to-head: Milan and Atletico last met in the last 16 of the 2013/14 edition of the Champions League.

Atletico claimed a 5-1 aggregate victory on that occasion, winning 4-1 on home soil before securing a 1-0 victory in Italy.

Team news: Alessandro Plizzari, Rade Krunic, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Junior Messias and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are all currently injured for Milan.

Atletico only have one injury concern at the moment, with midfielder Thomas Lemar on the treatment table with a muscle problem.

Considering both Milan and Atletico failed to win their opening Champions League game, both sides will be eager to avoid defeat on Matchday 2.

For that reason, Forebet predicts that Miland and Atletico will produce a low-scoring draw on Tuesday, with under 2.5 goals looking likely.
