The return of the Champions League this week means an array of stars on parade in the competition. One star in unfamiliar colours this week will be Lionel Messi, who is likely to make his competition debut with his new club PSG when they travel to Club Brugge on Wednesday night.
The game could finally see the Parisians able to field the potentially deadly front three of Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.

The club’s owners are desperate for their club to win Europe’s biggest competition and maybe this season offers the French giants their best opportunity yet.
PSG head into this clash on the back of a poor run of results in the Champions League. Mauricio Pochettino’s team has won just one of their last five outings in the competition, having also suffered three defeats.
Despite that run of poor results, they still made it through to the semi-finals of the Champions League. Their run was ended in the semi-finals by Manchester City, who recorded a resounding 4-1 aggregate triumph.
The Parisians have opponents on Wednesday of course in the shape of Club Brugge. However, despite being a strong force in their homeland, Club Brugge’s results in the Champions League have been poor of late.
The Belgian outfit has won just two of their last 12 matches in Europe’s elite competition. Last season they were highly inconsistent in the group stage, as they won two, drew two and lost two of their six games.
However, a tendency to leak goals cost them in Group F, as they conceded at least two goals in three of their last four outings.
Club Brugge also have a poor recent away record in the Champions League, as they have won just one of their previous six matches on their travels in Europe’s elite competition.
