RB Leipzig fell seven points behind Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga title race last weekend with a 1-0 defeat. Now, Julian Nagelsmann will aim for his team to get back to winning ways against Werder Bremen.

Die Roten Bullen could reel the Bavarians back in with a win and Bayern Munich loss or draw to Union Berlin. Bayern Munich could have their eyes on next week’s Champions League quarterfinal second leg match versus Paris Saint-Germain.

Werder Bremen are on a three-game losing streak in the Bundesliga. They could be the ideal team for RB Leipzig to rebound from last week’s top of the table loss.

These teams will meet again this season in the DFB Pokal semifinals.

RB Leipzig have won the last three matches in the Bundesliga versus Werder Bremen. They claimed a 2-0 win earlier this season at the Red Bull Arena thanks to goals from Marcel Sabitzer (penalty) and Dani Olmo. Both goals came in the opening 45 minutes.

Each of RB Leipzig’s last three victories against Werder Bremen were wins to nil. The Green and White were beaten last weekend in the Bundesliga by Stuttgart away, 1-0.

Werder Bremen have lost back-to-back home games in the league. They have claimed just three wins in 13 home matches this term.

RB Leipzig, on the other hand, are the Bundesliga’s second-best away team. They have won four straight road matches and just two away games from 13 have ended in losses.

Nagelsmann is without centre-back Dayot Upamecano this weekend due to a suspension for yellow card accumulation.

In-demand centre-back Ibrahima Konate could take his place. Defender Marcel Halstenberg is nearing a return from injury.

Defensive midfielder Konrad Laimer is also nearing a return from injury. He has missed the entire season with a knee issue. Yussuf Poulsen suffered a thigh injury last weekend and Alexander Sorloth is likely to start as the team’s No. 9.

Werder Bremen are seven points ahead of the relegation zone, but need to continue to pick up points to remain out of danger. Niclas Fullkrug is injured once more after breaking his toe last weekend. He will miss the game.

Maximilian Eggestein is ruled out through suspension, but defender Milos Veljkovic is in line for a return to the team.

Florian Kohfeldt’s team finished in the relegation playoff place last season. They are desperate to stay ahead of the bottom three this season.

RB Leipzig may have lost last weekend, but are on a great run of form versus Werder Bremen. They should pick up another win against the White and Green, and potentially, move closer to Bayern Munich once more – depending on the Bavarians’ result versus Union Berlin.
