Nagelsmann is without centre-back Dayot Upamecano this weekend due to a suspension for yellow card accumulation.
In-demand centre-back Ibrahima Konate could take his place. Defender Marcel Halstenberg is nearing a return from injury.
Defensive midfielder Konrad Laimer is also nearing a return from injury. He has missed the entire season with a knee issue. Yussuf Poulsen suffered a thigh injury last weekend and Alexander Sorloth is likely to start as the team’s No. 9.
Werder Bremen are seven points ahead of the relegation zone, but need to continue to pick up points to remain out of danger. Niclas Fullkrug is injured once more after breaking his toe last weekend. He will miss the game.
