Champions-elect Bayern Munich host Borussia Monchengladbach at the Allianz Arena in Saturday’s late kickoff, and the Bundesliga title could be secured if results earlier in the day favor Bayern.

If Borussia Dortmund lose to Fortuna Dusseldorf and Bayern beat Gladbach, the title will be heading to Bavaria for an eighth consecutive season.

Bayern’s blistering form since the break has seen them open up a seven-point lead at the top. Five straight victories have been added to their 11-game unbeaten run before the season was put on hold.

Hansi Flick’s side have put five past Eintracht Frankfurt and Dusseldorf in recent weeks and thrashed Bayer Leverkusen 4-2 last weekend.

However, there is no denying that their most significant victory was the hard-fought 1-0 win over Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park.

Bayern also progressed to the DFB-Pokal final in midweek thanks to a 2-1 win over Frankfurt on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Gladbach find themselves 4th – three points behind 3rd-place RB Leipzig and level on 56 points with Leverkusen.

Hopes of qualifying for next season’s Champions League are still alive, although Marco Rose’s men must continue to win in order to prevent Leverkusen from overtaking them.

Gladbach have picked up a mixed bag of results since the restart. High-scoring victories over Frankfurt and Union Berlin have come before defeats to Leverkusen and Freiburg, along with a draw against Werder Bremen.

Despite enjoying 60% possession against Freiburg last weekend, as well as notching up 14 shots, Gladbach eventually lost 1-0.

The Foals actually got the better of Bayern in the reverse fixture, claiming a 2-1 victory earlier in the campaign.

In fact, the head-to-head record between the two teams is fairly even in recent years, with three wins each from their previous six meetings.

However, two notable 5-1 victories for Bayern suggest that Hansi Flick’s side are due another high-scoring win over Gladbach.

Looking at the team news, Corentin Tolisso remains a long-term absentee for Bayern, while Serge Gnabry is a doubt after picking up a minor back injury.

Denis Zakaria, Fabian Johnson, Tobias Strobl, and Raffael are all injury doubts for Gladbach, while Alassane Plea is suspended due to his red card last weekend.

Gladbach have been excellent this season, but it’s difficult to imagine the Foals preventing an unstoppable Bayern side from getting one hand on the Bundesliga trophy.

Forebet predicts that both teams will score. However, Bayern are expected to net over 2.5 goals on their way to victory.
