Werder have been extremely generous to opposition teams of late at the Weserstadion, having conceded in their last 15 home matches in the Bundesliga.
Union Berlin are in danger of being sucked into the fight for survival in the German top-flight. The visitors look comfortable in 12th place, but in reality, they are only six points clear of Werder.
A record of just one win in their last six league games explains the nervous looks over their shoulders at the relegation zone. A 5-0 hammering at Dortmund in their last Bundesliga game was their fourth defeat in five league outings.
The team from the German capital have also conceded at least two goals in four defeats.
