It’s back to the bread and butter of the Bundesliga for Bayer Leverkusen following their recent defeat to Juventus in the Champions League, and having also lost to struggling Cologne in a 2-0 loss away from home, Wednesday night’s hosts will no doubt be itching to return to winning ways here.

In addition, results at home have been solid enough for Leverkusen who have suffered just 1 defeat from their 8 matches on home turf at their BayArena, and just 1 loss from their last 11 matches in the Bundesliga.
Hertha Berlin head into this Wednesday night encounter on the back of two matches without defeat in the German top flight following a much-needed 1-0 home win against Freiburg which was backed up with a point in a draw away from home at Eintracht Frankfurt.
Before this recent upturn in results, Hertha Berlin had suffered a 5-match losing streak which included losses to Hoffenheim, Union Berlin, RB Leipzig, Augsburg and Borussia Dortmund, so despite the win over Freiburg, the visitors are not out of the woods yet.
