Ecuador and Venezuela kick off their Copa America campaign for 2024 this weekend with a meeting at the Levi's Stadium.

Ecuador have been on a commendable run of form within the past year. In fact, only Italy and Argentina have managed to defeat them in the last 12 months, as they failed to score a goal in either one of those games where Italy won 2-0 before Argentina defeated them 1-0 as well.

Recently, Ecuador have been on a winning run, as they managed to edge past Honduras and Bolivia just before this Copa America started.
Enner Valencia was once again amongst the goals in that game against Bolivia, as Ecuador had 11 shots on target from a total of 18 efforts.
John Yeboah also managed to score in that match, just before Jordy Caicedo scored from the penalty spot as well.
Against Honduras, Piero Hincapie scored in the dying embers of regular time to seal a 2-1 win, as Ecuador had nine shots on target from a total of 14 efforts. Jeremy Sarmiento also got amongst the goals in that game, as he scored in the first eight minutes of the match.
Also in 2024 were those two defeats to Argentina and Italy, but they did also get a 2-0 win over Guatemala as well, back in March.
John Yeboah scored once more for his nation in that match, as Gonzalo Plata netted late on in the game too.
Ecuador and Venezuela will share this group with Mexico and Jamaica, and they are two of the favourites to get through to the knockout rounds. It does make this game one of great importance for both countries in this Copa America group stage.
As for Venezuela, they have not had quite the same run in to this tournament as Ecuador have. They even drew 0-0 with Ecuador four games ago, before then drawing 1-1 with Peru as well.
Italy managed to also get a win against them in a 2-1 victory, as Darwin Machis managed to score in the first half of the game for Venezuela.
Guatemala drew with them 0-0, in contrast to Ecuador beating them as well. Forebet now predicts a draw in this game too and for the game to see under 2.5 goals.
