Chelsea will no doubt be in dire straits after that loss, as they were the better team for much of the game.
What’s more, it now leaves this clash with Leeds at home as their biggest game of the season after that EFL Cup final, as they are unlikely to get into Europe, not in a European competition, and this is their best chance of success in 2023/24 now.
Maurico Pochettino’s men will also be happy to park their league form for another game, with the club outside of the top half of the table by two points with just 35 on the board from 25 games.
They do now have a game in hand because of the EFL Cup final duty, however, so the west London club can jump into as high as ninth with a win in that extra game.
