RB Leipzig are back at the Red Bull Arena after two competitive games in German football on the road saw them come away with a win and a loss so far with Stuttgart making the trip across Germany this weekend.

Leipzig have had a very topsy-turvy start to the season. They managed to win the DFL-Supercup after a 3-0 thrashing over Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena which was no doubt one of their most impressive and best results in recent seasons.

Dani Olmo was the hero that day after he scored a hat-trick to become the only player to do so in the DFL-Supercup this century - a feat that even the likes of Robert Lewandowski have never achieved.

In fact, one his goals was an early contender for goal of the season as he took apart the Bayern defence with a lovely piece of skill and a smart finish.

However, as many predicted due to the outgoing transfers this season, Leipzig struggled on the opening day and could be in for a bit of a struggle to remain in the top three this season.

Bayer Leverkusen was up first, and the club went 2-0 down before Olmo scored once more to bring one back.

Florian Wirtz made it 3-1 to Leverkusen, as Lois Openda scored on his Bundesliga debut after a transfer from Ligue 1.

Manager Marco Rose will be pleased to see Olmo step up so much early on and for the likes of Openda to get off the mark with a goal.

However, no doubt Rose is going to miss the likes of Christopher Nunkuku up top for his side after he won the top scorer award in the Bundesliga last season with another stunning campaign.

Josko Gvardiol has also departed for Manchester City and no doubt leaves a huge gap in the defence, while Dominik Szoboszlai will also be missed in the midfield for Leipzig this season too.

As for Stuttgart, they have managed to score an incredible nine goals already in their first two matches in the 2023/24 season with the club beating Balingen 4-0 on the road in the DFB-Pokal first round after goals each from Silas Katompna Mvumpa, Enzo Millot, Serhous Guirassy and Waturu Endo.

A 5-0 battering over Bochum would come soon after, as Guirassy and Mvumpa netted braces each alongside a finish from Dan-Axel Zagadou.

Forebet still predicts a win for Leipzig, however, but for the game to also see over 2.5 goals.
