Liverpool went to the City Ground in October and suffered a 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest. It was one of the eight road losses suffered by Liverpool this season.

On Saturday, Liverpool will welcome Nottingham Forest to Anfield. The Reds have played well at Anfield this season, posting a record of 9W-4D-1L and a goal difference of +25. Liverpool are also coming off a 6-1 smashing of Leeds United at Elland Road and look to finally be in form.

Nottingham Forest are slumping and they go into matchday No 32 stuck in the relegation zone. Steve Cooper’s team had a bounce following the World Cup, but it has since ended. Forest lost five of their last six matches in the Premier League, picking up one point during that time.

Only Leeds United and Bournemouth have conceded more goals than Nottingham Forest this season. With Liverpool hitting six goals at Elland Road on Tuesday night, Forest should fear for their lives going to Anfield on Saturday.

Liverpool are three points off the top six and nine off fourth place. There are eight points left in the campaign for Liverpool to claw back the gap to the Champions League qualification places.

Nottingham Forest are the Premier League’s worst away team. Forest have one win on the road this season while drawing three times and losing 11 games.

Cooper’s team has conceded more away goals (36) than any other Premier League team on the road. Just six points from a possible 45 have been picked up away from the City Ground.

Jurgen Klopp is spoiled for choice in attack after Tuesday’s win over Leeds. Diogo Jota scored twice, Mohamed Salah scored two goals, Cody Gakpo scored and assisted a goal, and Darwin Nunez came off the bench to score his ninth goal of the league season.

Meanwhile, Trent Alexander-Arnold, playing in a hybrid right-back/central midfield position, picked up two assists. He now has three assists in the last two matches.

Only Stefan Bajcetic, Naby Keita, and Calvin Ramsay are set to miss the match for Liverpool. Luis Diaz returned from a knee injury for a cameo against Leeds.

Cooper has a long list of players on the injury list. He will be without Chris Wood, Giulian Biancone, Willy Boly, Dean Henderson, Cheikhou Kouyate, and Omar Richards.

Liverpool are finding their form, but Saturday’s game should be much closer than midweek’s 6-1 win over Leeds United.

Nottingham Forest should put in a strong defensive performance just as they did at the City Ground in October. Liverpool should still win 1-0, and the game will remain close.
