The Europa League giants are back in action once more as Sevilas makes the trip to the Netherlands where PSV Eindhoven are aiming to overturn a 3-0 deficit in the playoffs after the Spanish outfit eased to a win last Thursday in Seville.
Sevilla's change in form has been fantastic under their latest manager Jorge Sampaoli and since the dismissal of Julen Lopetegui.
It was not that long ago that the club were fighting relegation and even in the bottom three of La Liga just ahead of the break for the World Cup back in November.
Since the break was over and after Sampaoli was able to get a lot of work done in the process, Sevilla now sit with another excellent chance to get something done in the Europa League, as they have also risen up into 12th in La Liga.
Against PSV on home soil last weekend, Youssef En-Nesyri netted another goal in the 3-0 win, as Lucas Ocampos scored early on in the second half, just before a goal from Nemanja Gudelj sealed the deal and likely safe passage into the next round in the process.
Since the win in Europe, Sevilla have gone on to draw with Rayo Vallecano in a 1-1 match. What’s more, after also beating Mallorca 2-0 in La Liga, the 12th-placed La Liga side now come into this match with a three-game unbeaten run since their 3-0 loss at the Camp Nou to Barcelona.
On the other hand, despite the improved form from Sampaoli's men, they have only scored 24 goals and 30 conceded on their record in La Liga.
As for PSV, they have slumped back into fourth after a 2-2 draw with Utrecht over the weekend. Luuk de Jong scored yet again that day, as Johan Bakayoko also got in on the act.
Not long before this, however, Ruud van Nistlerooy guided his side to a stunning 6-0 win over Groningen, as they also defeated Emmen in the round of 16 of the KNVB Cup.
There should only really be one winner in this tie with Sevilla now expected to stroll through this game and end up in the next round of the Europa League. Over in the Netherlands, however, PSV could give it a real go and end up being the difference here.
