Having already wrapped up the Bundesliga title without losing a single game, Xabi Alonso’s side are on the cusp of creating more history.

Leading Roma 2-0 ahead of Thursday's Europa League semi-final second leg, Bayer Leverkusen will aim to maintain their unbeaten campaign across all competitions.

Can Alonso’s men book their place in the final? Or will Roma upset the odds in Germany? Read on to find out what Forebet’s AI algorithm predicts.

Bayer Leverkusen thrashed Eintracht Frankfurt 5-1 on Sunday, extending their lead at the summit of the Bundesliga to a whopping 15 points.

In the Europa League, Leverkusen have won nine and drawn two of their 11 matches this season, scoring 19 goals across five home victories (3.8 goals per game).

Across all competitions, Bayer have won 21 of their 24 home matches this term, scoring over 2.5 goals on 16 occasions while keeping 11 clean sheets.

With four games remaining, Alonso’s men have the opportunity to add the Europa League and the DFB-Pokal to their Bundesliga title in the coming weeks.

On the flip side, Roma followed the first-leg defeat with a 1-1 draw against Juventus on Sunday, meaning they head into Thursday’s decider on a three-game winless run.

Still, Daniele De Rossi’s side have only lost two of their last 10 games across all competitions, with three defeats coming in their previous 18 encounters.

Roma have also lost two of their last nine Europa League clashes, although they have managed to win just one of their previous five away from home.

When you look at the bigger picture, however, De Rossi’s men have suffered a solitary defeat in their last 10 away games across all competitions.

Head-to-head: Roma enjoyed a four-game unbeaten streak against Bayer Leverkusen between 2015 and 2023, before the German side ended that run last week.

The five previous meetings between the teams have produced 16 goals (3.2 goals per game), meaning Thursday’s clash will likely be a high-scoring affair.

Team news: Bayer Leverkusen have reported no injury problems ahead of the second leg, so Alonso has a full-strength squad at his disposal.

Funnily enough, Roma also look set to travel to Germany with an injury-free squad, although Tammy Abraham could miss out as he eases back into the team.

This season, 14 of Leverkusen’s 24 home games have produced over 3.5 goals, so we’re set for another eventful encounter on Thursday.

Forebet predicts that Bayer Leverkusen and Roma will play out a high-scoring draw, with both teams netting over 1.5 goals, sending the hosts into the final.
