Bayer Leverkusen will be aiming to build on their upturn in form this weekend when they meet with Werder Bremen at the BayArena as the club currently sit inside the drop zone in the Bundesliga with the away side flying high right now in ninth.
The 2022/23 season will be remembered for Leverkusen fans for one of the worst starts in Bundesliga history to a new season.
💬 #Seoane: "#B04Atleti was a very tactical game. Also compactness and presence in the duels will be important tomorrow. @werderbremen is always in the game with a lot of power." 🔜 #B04SVW | #Bayer04 | #Werkself pic.twitter.com/dV1bARYBbt— Bayer 04 Leverkusen (@bayer04_en) September 16, 2022

The club currently sit 17th in the league and the only aspect separating them from sitting bottom of the table is the fact VfL Bochum have not won a game yet this season and lost all six games.
Leverkusen, however, have turned things around ever so slightly in the past week. They drew with Hertha Berlin in the capital last weekend, but it was their stunning victory against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League that will give them great hope in moving forward here.
It was two late goals that snatched all three points in Europe for them, with Robert Andrich and Moussa Diaby scoring a goal each in the last 10 minutes of the game.
This can't, however, look past the fact the Bundesliga giants did lose to Club Brugge on the opening weekend in Europe, just as Freiburg beat them 3-2 in the league just prior to this. Leverkusen's only win in the league so far did come in the 3-0 win against Mainz, as Jeremie Frimpong scored twice, just as Exequiel Palacios scored as well.
As for Bremen, it has been a sensational season for them so far as they sit ninth in the table and have started this campaign better than any of the previous five.
They are, however, in the losing column right now after a defeat at the hands of Augsburg, while they also lost to Eintracht Frankfurt in a stunning 4-3 loss at home.
Bremen last beat Bochum in the league in a 2-0 victory away from home, and considering Leverkusen are right by them in the league table, the club will have great confidence in winning once more.
Ole Werner's side are also still living off the high of beating Borussia Dortmund in stunning style a few weeks back at the Signal Iduna Park.
His men came back to win the game from 2-0 down to win 3-2 with all three goals coming in the last eight minutes of the game.
Forebet predicts a win here for Bremen and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
