On Wednesday night, Segunda outfit Mirandes host Rayo Vallecano in the last 32 of the Copa del Rey.
Mirandes are currently mid-table in the second tier of the Spanish game. However, Lolo Escobar’s team are six points above the relegation zone, with their biggest fight this season likely to be maintaining their status in the Spanish second tier.

The home team heads into this clash on the back of three wins in their last four matches in all competitions. Last time out they recorded a much-needed 2-0 victory over Real Zaragoza.
Mirandes have a mixed recent record in the Copa del Rey, as they have beaten San Roque Lepe and Lugo in this season’s competition. However, they had previously suffered three straight defeats before this season in the competition.
Mirandes also have an inconsistent recent home record in the Copa, but a record of two wins in 90 minutes in their last eight home outings is not a great one.
Real Vallecano have been one of the surprise packages of La Liga this season, as they are currently fighting for a place in the league’s top-four.
However, that objective received a blow last time out when Andoni Iraola’s team suffered a 2-0 defeat at reigning champions Atletico Madrid. The win saw Diego Simeone’s team leapfrog their city rivals in the table.
The defeat was only Los Franjirrojos’ second loss in eight games in all competitions. They will be expected to bounce right back in this clash.
Rayo Vallecano have been tough to beat in the Copa del Rey in recent seasons, as the visitors have lost just one of their last six outings in the competition.
Forebet predicts that Rayo Vallecano will bounce back from defeat last time out by recording a narrow victory in a low-scoring encounter.
