The race for the Champions League spots in the Bundesliga could be intriguing this season, as usual, there is a host of teams looking to book their place in European football’s elite competition for next season.
Two teams who look like they could play a big part in that race are Freiburg and Hoffenheim who meet on Saturday afternoon at the Dreisamstadion.

Freiburg are enjoying a highly promising campaign. Christian Streich’s team currently sit fourth-place in the table, two points off third spot and two ahead of Saturday’s fifth-place visitors.
Despite their lofty position in the table, Freiburg had been going through a rough run of form before an incredible 6-0 win at Monchengladbach last time out. In fact, they had suffered three straight defeats before their trip to Borussia Park.
Freiburg are a tough opponent on home soil, as they have lost just one of their last ten home matches in the Bundesliga. However, that one defeat came in their last home match, as Eintracht Frankfurt left with a 2-0 victory.
Like the home team, Hoffenheim look like a genuine contender for one of those four Champions League spots. A victory in this clash would move them into the top-four of the German top-flight.
Sebastian Hoeness’ team has been in good form in recent weeks, as they have won four of their last five matches in the Bundesliga. A 3-2 home win over Eintracht Frankfurt last time out means that the visitors have also scored at least two goals in all four of their recent victories.
Hoffenheim’s recent away form has been poor, as the visitors have won just one of their last six away matches in the Bundesliga. That win came in their last league match on their travels, as they recorded a 6-3 win at league whipping boys Greuther Furth.
Forebet predicts that Freiburg will record a victory in a high-scoring encounter to consolidate their position in the Bundesliga’s top-four.
