Bundesliga’s serial winners Bayern Munich will play hosts to one of Europe’s most surprising teams this weekend as the champions welcome third-placed SC Freiburg to the Allianz Arena for a first versus third encounter.

At the start of the season, this game could have easily been a champion versus relegation-fighter battle.

However, with 10 games now passed, it is anything but that and with a purple patch turning into legitimate consistent form, Freiburg are perhaps the team to keep an eye on this campaign across Europe’s top leagues.

Freiburg finished 10th last season, which is pretty normal given their realistic targets. That campaign, they won a mere 12 games from 34 encounters, but this season, they already have six and scored almost a quarter of the goals they got last season already too.

Last year, they managed to concede 52 goals and score 52 and finish right in the middle of the table, so it was quite literally, as mediocre of a season as it gets. Now, however, they have a five-point gap on fourth-placed Bayer Leverkusen and are competing with the big guns right now.

Christian Streich’s have been incredible at times. So much so that they haven’t tasted defeat in the Bundesliga just yet and they remain one of the only unbeaten sides left on the domestic front across Europe’s most competitive divisions.

In fact, only Napoli, AC Milan and Liverpool are unbeaten in their respective leagues so far, with clubs like Manchester City, Chelsea, Inter Milan and the Spanish giants all losing games this season, putting Freiburg as one of the most in-form sides out there.

To make matters a little more alarming, however, this is Freiburg’s first real test in the Bundesliga since defeating Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in the second game of the season. They have since drawn with RB Leipzig, but other than that, they’ve faced teams outside of the top six consistently until now.

This is much of the reason as to how they’ve managed to concede only seven times from 10 games, which once again, remains a Bundesliga record this campaign and one which is tough to match around Europe.

Nevertheless, Bayern are top of the table once again and with 38 goals scored from only 10 games, once again, they remain Europe’s most relentless side and Forebet predicts this to continue.

Forebet predicts a home win and a game that will see over 2.5 goals once more.
