Manchester United welcome Everton to Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon, aiming to avoid back-to-back Premier League defeats.

Everton, on the other hand, will be searching for their fourth win in five league outings when they make the short trip east this weekend.

Interestingly, both sides are locked on 13 points in the table, with fourth-place Man Utd leading fifth-place Everton thanks to their superior goal difference.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men went unbeaten in their opening five Premier League games this term, picking up four wins and a draw in the process.

However, the Red Devils tasted defeat in the league for the first time this season last weekend. They lost 1-0 to Aston Villa on home soil, with Bruno Fernandes missed a stoppage-time penalty.

When you look at the bigger picture, though, Man Utd have only lost four of their previous 48 Premier League matches.

Solskjaer’s side came from behind to secure a dramatic late victory over Villarreal in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Alex Telles canceled out Paco Alcacer’s opener with a stunning volley before Crisitano Ronaldo netted the winner in the fifth minute of stoppage time.

Meanwhile, Everton have only lost one of their six league outings this term – recording four wins and a draw under new boss Rafa Benitez.

The Toffees have netted 12 goals along the way (two goals per game), meaning only three teams in the league have scored more this season.

Everton have won three of their previous four Premier League matches, seeing off Brighton, Burnley and Norwich in that time.

It is worth noting that Everton have also enjoyed huge success on their travels recently. In fact, they have only lost three of their past 20 away games in all competitions.

Head-to-head: Man Utd are currently enjoying a five-game unbeaten streak against Everton across all competitions.

The Toffees have managed to win just one of their last 14 meetings with the Red Devils, suffering eight defeats during that period.

Team news: Man Utd will be without defensive duo Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw this weekend, while Marcus Rashford remains on the sidelines.

As for Everton, they have Richarlison, Seamus Coleman, Fabian Delph, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Andre Gomes on the treatment table.

Although Man Utd have recorded a number of questionable results of late, they are expected to flex their muscles and get the better of Everton.

Forbet predicts that Man Utd will score over 2.5 goals en route to seeing off the Toffees on Saturday.
