Their poor early season form has seen Thomas Reis’ team slip into the relegation zone and it could be a long campaign for the Bundesliga newcomers.
However, a victory in this clash could see Die Unabsteigbaren shoot up the German top-flight table.
Their home form could be key to Bochum surviving in the German top-flight. However, they have won just one of their last eight league matches in the Bundesliga dating back to their last spell in the league.
To be fair they last featured in the top-flight way back in season 2009/10 before the current campaign.
Stuttgart started the campaign in a positive manner with a 5-1 home hammering of Greuther Furth. However, things have gone slightly downhill since the win for Pellegrino Matarazzo and his team.
Die Roten have won failed to win in four league outings, having suffered three defeats in the process. A 3-1 home loss against Bayer Leverkusen last time out means that the visitors have conceded at least two goals in three of their four winless matches in the German top-flight.
Stuttgart have been travel sick of late in the German top-flight, as they have won just two of their previous 11 away games in the Bundesliga.
They have also won just once in their previous seven league matches on the road.
