The Bundesliga returned with a sensational set of games last weekend as we saw some monumental fixtures take place in what is now set to shape the upcoming few weeks dramatically.
Bayern Munich further established themselves as the top side in the Bundesliga as they won 3-2 against RB Leipzig, just as Borussia Dortmund 5-2 to Bayer Leverkusen which now puts the two sides right next to each other in the table.

Here, we take a look at the games that were the most interesting and what this now means for the Bundesliga.
It was second meets third in the Bundesliga over the past weekend and it was one of the games of the season as Dortmund were handed one of the most damning defeats of the campaign as they lost 5-2 to Leverkusen.
Leverkusen ran riot at the Signal Iduna Park as they scored a goal almost every 20 minutes after Manuel Akanji scored an own goal after 10 minutes.
Dortmund never looked at the races and the result now leaves just a five-point gap between the two in second and third, and the Black and Yellow now trail Bayern by nine points in the title race that is now surely all but over once more.
The torrid form under Adi Hutter continued this past weekend for Borussia Monchengladbach as they drew 1-1 in a must-win game against Arminia Bielefeld.
The game saw another goal from Alassane Plea, who once again has been the only real bright spark at times for Gladbach as the club now sit an incredible one point above the relegation zone and can be sucked into the bottom three at any moment.
What makes this match even tougher for Gladbach to deal with is how they now face off with Augsburg, who sit in the relegation play-off spot. The two will switch places in the relegation zone if Augsburg win, which now makes it’s the biggest game of the season for Gladbach.
Bayern once again extended their lead at the top of the table with a win over RB Leipzig as they ran out 3-2 winners of the out-of-form side as Robert Lewandowski get yet another goal, just as Christopher Nkunku did the same in a sensational season for him with Leipzig.
It now means Bayern are nine clear at the top and have also created a 21-point gap on the Red Bull side here too. Leipzig’s Champions League hopes are seriously fading, and it now seems a case of when rather than if Bayern win the title.
