The Europe’s derby weekend fully covered by Forebet

The past weekend saw some of Europe’s hottest games take place as Manchester City faced Manchester United on Sunday in the Premier League, while in the Bundesliga the Der Klassiker between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern München entertained the football fans on Saturday. Certainly, we should add to these the derbies in France and Italy.

Both matches were extremely exciting and offered dynamic football with plenty of chances and goals scored.

Surely, it was the Forebet derbies weekend as not only the final outcomes of these two intriguing games were predicted successfully, but all match predictions came out. Furthermore, the derbies in Italy and France between Milan and Juventus and Monaco and PSG also had their outcomes predicted.

The Forebet advanced machine learning algorithms work on the football big data to calculate the probabilities on the following targets:

    • Final outcome of the match (Predictions 1X2)
    • Correct score
    • Under/Over 2.5 goals scored
    • Half time predictions
    • Both To Score
    • Handicap
    • Scorers

Especially eye raising was the Half time / Full time prediction on the Der Klassiker as it was 2/1 or the away side to take the lead and then Dortmund to manage a full turn around of events. This is exactly what happened!

This outcome usually is given great odds by the bookies and such was the case now with 34.00 or 33/1

Few words can describe the match between Dortmund and Bayern. Intense, spectacular, tremendous, breathtaking is how reports across the world define this game.

These are some milestones on that match:

26' Goal! Borussia Dortmund 0, FC Bayern München 1. Robert Lewandowski - FC Bayern München - shot with the head from few metres to the top right corner. Assist - Serge Gnabry with a cross.

48' Penalty conceded by Manuel Neuer - FC Bayern München - after a foul in the penalty area.

49' Goal! Borussia Dortmund 1, FC Bayern München 1. Marco Reus - Borussia Dortmund - converts the penalty with a shot with right foot to the right corner.

52' Goal! Borussia Dortmund 1, FC Bayern München 2. Robert Lewandowski - FC Bayern München - shot with the head from few metres to the centre of the goal. Assist - Joshua Kimmich.

67' Goal! Borussia Dortmund 2, FC Bayern München 2. Marco Reus - Borussia Dortmund - shot with right foot from the centre of the box to the left corner. Assist - Lukasz Piszczek with a cross.

73' Goal! Borussia Dortmund 3, FC Bayern München 2. Paco Alcácer - Borussia Dortmund - shot with right foot from the centre of the box to the left corner. Assist - Axel Witsel with a through ball following a fast break.

Summing up,  Dortmund won the game, 3-2 the correct score, there were over 2.5 goals scored, both teams scored, Bayern were winning on half time, Paco, Reus and Lewandowski all three scored goals.

That’s how Saturday’s most awaited match went and on Sundays it was time for the Premier League to catch the football fans eyes.

This time however, the Forebet predictions gave little chance for the away side to take anything of that game, which is rather unusual for a derby match.

Nevertheless, bearing in mind  both teams recent form and displays the 1/1 on Half time/ Full time made sense and that is how things went.

Guariola’s men took the lead early in the match with a goal by David Silva. Forebet had 62% on Aguero to score and so he did making the score 2-0.

United managed to get back in it when Martial converted a penalty, but they simply didn’t have enough to achieve something more at the Etihad stadium and Gundogan closed the match with a 3rd goal for City.

So, Manchester City won, 3-1 the final score, there were over 2.5 goals scored, both teams scored, City  were winning on half time and Aguero managed to score a goal.

The high probability for City to win at both Half time and Full time on a derby game was a bit intimidating, but looking at how the match went it seems statistics completely answered the question.

The home side had the ball possession and created more chances than their opponents and it fair to say they deservedly won the match.

In Italy and France there were also derby games as AC Milan welcomed Juventus and AS Monaco clashed with PSG. Both these matches final outcomes were successfully predicted.

While the task ahead of PSG seemed considerably easy as Monaco are in bad shape currently, the trip to Milan was always going to be a difficult one for Juventus.

However, with goals by Mandzukic and Ronaldo, Juventus managed a clear 0-2 victory, while the Forebet algorithm was expecting Milan to pose a bigger challenge and score a least one goal.

It’s fair to say this was the Forebet’s Europe derby weekend!
