Almost a year on from losing at the final hurdle in their race to get into the Premier League, Coventry City are into the FA Cup semi-finals and facing another battle to get into the Championship playoffs for the second season running.
Let’s take a look at Coventry's season so far.
Coventry face Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-finals, a team they have not defeated since beating them in the League Cup in 2007 against the odds, as they recorded a stunning 2-0 win at Old Trafford. Prior to this, they last beat them in 1997 in the Premier League.

The Sky Blues have managed to beat Oxford United, Sheffield Wednesday and defeat the upset kings of the season, Maidstone United, before sealing that stunning comeback win against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
It looked as if Coventry had lost the game with Wolves scoring in the 88th minute, but in stunning style, Ellis Simms equalised in the 88th minute before Haji Wright netted in the 100th minute of the game.
Heading into the 38th match of the season in the Championship that also marks the final 10 matches of the campaign, Coventry sit behind the top six playoff spots by just four points. This has, however, seen them win only 15 of their 37 games, which is one fewer than that of Cardiff City's tally in 11th.
On the other hand, a lot of their games have also ended in draws in the league with the Sky Blues ending the match level on 12 occasions, meaning only Huddersfield Town have drawn more in 2023/24 with 15.
Coventry will also be hopeful of getting into the playoffs once more, given their goalscoring run. No team outside of the top six has more goals than them, while the club even have the same amount of goals (59) as West Bromwich Albion in fifth, who are nine points clear of them.
The Sky Blues really have been turning things around lately by winning away to Watford and smashing Rotherham United 5-0 at home.
Elsewhere in the Championship this season, the Midlands outfit have managed to even beat the league leaders and Premier League bound Leicester City 3-1, as Callum O'Hare scored twice alongside Milan van Ewijk's goal.
Ultimately, in their own regard, Coventry certainly have enough to get the job done. However, things now depend on what happens above them, such as with the form of Norwich.
On the other hand, recent history is on their side, as they finished fifth last season with only 13 more points than they currently have and there are still 33 more to play for. This surely means they will better last season's tally, while they have also scored one more than last campaign's score of 58.
