How Many Goals Could Kane Get in the Bundesliga?

We are only two weeks into the new German Bundesliga season and Harry Kane already has 3 goals for his club, Bayern Munich.

The England international was linked with a move to the German champions throughout the summer before eventually joining from Tottenham Hotspur in a deal worth €100 million.

Some thought it was too much for a player who is 30 years old but Kane is eager to prove he is worth the money.

Having scored and assisted on his Bundesliga debut in the win over Werder Bremen, Kane scored on his home debut against

Augsburg from the penalty spot before slotting home his second goal of the match in the 69th minute.

Kane is the first English player to score in his first two Bundesliga games and will be hoping to extend that record in the weeks to come.

Since the 2014/15 season, Kane has scored 20 or more league goals in six out of nine seasons.

Last season, Kane scored 30 goals in the Premier League in what was a disappointing Spurs team and that highlights what he can do in a team that is not playing well.

If Bayern Munich can return to their best under Thomas Tuchel this season, the sky is the limit in terms of goals for Kane this season.

Last season, the top goal scorer in the Bundesliga had 16 goals and there is no doubt, if Kane remains fit, that he will score more goals than both Niclas Füllkrug and Christopher Nkunku managed in the 2022/23 Bundesliga campaign.

However, there is one man who he will have in his sights and his name is Robert Lewandowski.

The Polish international scored 35 Bundesliga goals in his final season for Bayern Munich before leaving for Barcelona.

He scored a phenomenal 41 goals in the 2020/21 Bundesliga season, which is a record for a single league campaign in Germany.

With 18 clubs in the Bundesliga, there are 34 games in total, meaning Kane is going to have to average over 1 goal per match if he is to break the record of Lewandowski for goals in a single Bundesliga season.

Kane is currently averaging over 1 goal per game after two matches in the German topflight but there is a long way to go in the season.

However, Bayern Munich are the clear favourites to win the 2023/24 Bundesliga title and there are sure to be some matches where Kane will be presented with several opportunities to score goals.

Kane could easily have had a hattrick against Augsburg and he is highly likely to get at least one hattrick this season in the Bundesliga.

Kane is on penalties and that increases his chances of scoring the goals required to break the current record of goals in a single Bundesliga season.
