The two sides failed to win on opening day of the Serie A campaign and are both desperate to get points this weekend before falling further behind.

Corinthians lost at home on matchday 1 to Atletico GO 1-0. Ze Roberto’s 44th-minute goal gave Corinthians the win.
America MG fell 1-0 to Athletico PR on opening day. Carlos Eduardo de Souza’s goal in the 87th minute gave Athletico PR the victory.
Both America MG and Corinthians are coming off of Copa do Brasil third round matches in midweek. America MG played out nil-nil draw versus Criciuma in the first leg of their Copa do Brasil third round fixture.
Corinthians faced off once again versus Athletico PR. They lost for the second time this week by a score of 2-0. Timao are not in good form going into the game.
They have already changed managers as former Barcelona defender Sylvinho took over the role prior to Serie A’s opening day.
Due to the state and continental tournaments in South America, Corinthians have played 24 games. They have posted a record of 12W-6D-6L this term.
America MG have played 19 matches this term in all competitions. The team have posted a record of 10W-5D-4L. They have outscored opponents 24 to 13.
The Rabbits are playing their first Serie A campaign since the 2018 season. They achieved promotion with a second-place finish in Serie B last term.
The clubs have played eight times since 2011. Corinthians are unbeaten in six of those games in all competitions with four ending in wins and two in draws.
Sylvinho has a number of injuries going into the game this weekend. Foward Caue and midfielder Gustavo Mantuan are both ruled out until mid-June.
There is hope that several injured players could be near returns. Midfielder Xavier, defender Jemerson, defender Danilo Avelar and Ruan Oliveira are all nearing returns from their respective injury issues.
