This is the second meeting of the J-League season between Yokohama FC and Kawasaki Frontale. The Blue-Black claimed a 3-1 win against Yokohama FC thanks to goals from Akihiro Ienaga, Ao Tanaka, and Kaoru Mitoma. Yokohama FC scored through Kleber but the game was done and dusted.

Yokohama FC manager Tomonobu Hayakawa could be without Masakazu Tashiro, Kosuke Saito, and Haruki Saruta for the fixture. Oniki could be without the likes of Ryota Oshima and Kazuya Yamamura due to their respective injuries.
