Atalanta head to the Stadio Ennio Tardini to face off with Parma on Sunday. La Dea are second in Serie A but are locked on 69 points along with third-place Juventus and fourth-place AC Milan.

Coach Gian Piero Gasperini is aiming to qualify for the Champions League for the third straight campaign. However, Atalanta must continue winning matches as just five points separate them with sixth-place Lazio.

Three Champions League qualification places in Serie A are up for grabs between five teams. Parma are 19th in Serie A and set for a return to Serie B.

The Crociati have taken just 20 points from 34 matches this season. They are on a five-match losing streak in Serie A.

Atalanta thrashed Parma earlier this season in Bergamo 3-0. Luis Muriel scored in the 15th minute and Duvan Zapata added a second in the 49th. Robin Gosens put the game to bed just after the hour-mark as Atalanta cruised.

Since returning to Serie A in 2018, Parma have lost five straight matches against Atalanta. All five of the games ended with over 2.5 goals scored. Three of those five games ended in wins to nil for Atalanta.

Atalanta are Serie A’s second-best team in terms of form. They took 14 points from the last 18 on offer in the league. La Dea outscored opponents 14-6 during that time period.

Parma are rock bottom of the form table having taken one point from the last 18.

Although Parma scored 10 times over the course of their last 10 games, they conceded 17 goals. Parma coach Roberto D’Aversa has a laundry list of injuries going into the game.

Gaston Brugman, Joshua Zirkzee and Dennis Man are all three likely to miss the game through injuries. Wylan Cyprien is ruled out with an Achilles’ tendon injury.

Meanwhile, Simone Iacoponi and Hans Caviglia could both be fit for the game. Hernani is suspended for the game and will play no part.

Atalanta coach Gasperini will be without goalie Pierluigi Gollini due to suspension. Defender Rafael Toloi is a doubt due to a muscle injury.

The Bergamo club have had no issues with Parma in five straight Serie A games. All five games ended in wins with over 2.5 goals scored. Atlanta should win once more versus Parma with more than 2.5 goals tallied.

Two of the last four matches ended with both teams scoring. They could both find the back of the net once more as Atalanta win.
