With just three league matches remaining of the Bundesliga season, league leaders, Bayern Munich, hold a seven-point cushion over 2nd placed RB Leipzig, prior to this weekend’s action in the German top flight.

Therefore, another win this Saturday evening against visitors, Borussia Moenchengladbach, at their Allianz Arena would see Bayern Munich take another big step towards landing another Bundesliga title despite suffering defeat last time out in the domestic top flight.

An unexpected 2-1 defeat away from home at Mainz put an end to Bayern Munich’s previous eight-match unbeaten run which consisted of seven wins but this loss has only delayed the inevitable of another Bayern title win.

Bayern Munich have produced another exemplary record at home in this season’s Bundesliga campaign as the hosts have won 11 and drawn 4 of their 15 matches to date this term at their Allianz Arena, whilst also scoring a total of 53 goals on home soil as well.

The hosts have scored 2 goals or more in 13 of their 15 matches played to date and further goals look likely this Saturday.

Borussia Moenchengladbach currently sit outside of the top six in the Bundesliga, currently occupying 7th place and four points adrift of 6th placed Bayer Leverkusen, but the visitors may find themselves further behind after Saturday’s trip to Munich.

Following a miserable period of results from mid-February through to mid-March which saw M’gladbach suffer four defeats on the trot following losses against Mainz, RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen and Augsburg, M’gladbach have done well to respond in positive fashion by losing just one of their subsequent six matches thereafter.

Four wins out of these last six matches have given the visitors a fighting chance of a top six finish after recording victories over Schalke, Freiburg, Eintracht Frankfurt and Arminia Bielefeld, the latter two wins being 4-0 and and 5-0 wins respectively.

However, three of these four aforementioned wins were registered on home turf at their Stadion im BORUSSIA-PARK, while results away from home have been far more modest.

With just two wins out of their last 12 matches on their travels, this looks like being a daunting task for M’gladbach who look likely to have their work cut out to even get a point this Saturday.
