PSG win and goals likely when Lens visit

It’s been a busy and hectic fixture schedule for a lot of teams, not least, PSG, as they prepare for the visit of Lens in this important upcoming clash in Ligue 1 on Saturday as PSG look to make the final push for the Ligue 1 title.

PSG still occupy 2nd spot and are just a point behind the current league leaders, Lille, but if their rivals slip up, PSG look poised to wrestle the top spot from Lille with a win over Lens on Saturday at their Parc des Princes.

Paris St. Germain have won five of their previous six matches in all competitions and this preview has been written prior to their Champions League 1st leg clash against Manchester City, but regardless, the hosts will be pushing for a fourth domestic league win on the trot here.

Two of PSG’s last three meetings at home against Lens have produced a home win and over 2.5 goals.

Lens have also enjoyed a successful Ligue 1 campaign as the visitors currently sit in 5th place and are in line for possible involvement in Europe at the start of next season.

So they too will be keen to get a result in Paris this Saturday.

The visitors bring a decent and solid looking sequence of 13 matches without defeat in the French top flight into this vital clash which includes six wins while there have also been nine games within this 13-match period that have produced 3 goals or more.

Lens are also unbeaten in their last eight matches on their travels too which includes victories at Marseille, Montpellier, Saint-Etienne and Strasbourg while RC Lens have also failed to score in just two of their 17 away matches so far this term.

Lens are therefore very capable of contributing to the scoreline here this Saturday but they may have their work cut out to get a result in the nation’s capital as PSG look to turn up the heat in their bid for another domestic league title with the hosts going all out to take all three points here.

A PSG win and over 2.5 goals therefore looks to be on the cards here.
