Sunday’s hosts, PSG, bounced back from their recent disappointing 1-0 defeat at home to Lille by recording a convincing 4-1 win away from home at Strasbourg in Ligue 1 and they’ll be looking for more of the same when they welcome Saint-Etienne to the Parc des Princes.

That earlier loss to Lille mean that PSG now sit in 2nd spot and three points behind the league leaders, Lille, prior to this weekend’s action in the French top flight but the Paris club have a great opportunity to keep the pressure on their title rivals this Sunday.

PSG have had their occasional hiccup at home as they’ve been handed losses on home turf to Monaco, Nantes and Lille but overall form has been good as PSG have won seven of their last 10 matches overall in Ligue 1.

The hosts will be eager to break a three-match losing streak at home though and the encouraging sign for Paris St. Germain is that eight of their 10 home wins to date have been by a 2-goal or greater margin.

Defenders Marquinhos and Kurzawa may be sidelined along with forward, Icardi.

Saint-Etienne will make their way to the nation’s capital this Sunday looking to make it three wins on the trot but they face formidable opposition in the shape of PSG whom they’ve lost five of their last six meetings against.

Nevertheless, recent back-to-back wins against Nimes and Bordeaux will give Saint-Etienne confidence ahead of this upcoming clash on Sunday but inconsistency has hampered the visitors throughout this Ligue 1 campaign and this has resulted with Saint-Etienne currently occupying 13th place on the Ligue 1 ladder.

A slow start to the season on the road saw Saint-Etienne pick up just the one win out of their opening seven matches but the visitors have since staged a recovery and head into this encounter at the Parc des Princes having won four of their last five matches on their travels.

Victories on the road at Nice, Rennes, Angers and Nimes have given Saint-Etienne a welcome boost on the road but they’ll face their toughest test yet this Sunday and they’ll be without defender Macon, midfielder Boudebouz and forward Modeste for this trip.

PSG look set to continue their dominance over Saint-Etienne here and could win by a 2-goal margin or greater.
