Just one point separates Everton and Tottenham Hotspur as the two sides prepare to clash at Goodison Park on Friday night.

Eighth-place Everton currently trail seventh-place Spurs, although the Toffees have a game in hand over Jose Mourinho’s men.

The winner of this match will be given a huge boost in the hunt for a European finish come the end of the season.

Everton were held to a goalless draw by Brighton & Hove Albion last time out, meaning they head into Friday’s clash on a four-game winless run.

Following defeats to Chelsea and Burnley, the Toffees have drawn with Crystal Palace and Brighton, giving them just two points from a possible 12.

It is also worth noting that Everton have only managed to win one of their previous nine home games in all competitions.

After scoring 11 goals in as many games at the start of the season, Dominic Calvert-Lewin has bagged just three goals in his previous 15 Premier League appearances.

On the flip side, Tottenham have only managed to win one of their last four Premier League matches, with a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa coming last month.

Despite leading 1-0 at half-time on Sunday, Spurs threw away their advantage and eventually lost 3-1 to Manchester United.

It is worth pointing out that Tottenham have now conceded over 1.5 goals in three of their previous four Premier League outings.

Given that Mourinho’s men now sit six points outside the top four with just seven games left to play, Champions League football is looking unlikely for Spurs next term.

Head-to-head: Tottenham have avoided defeat in each of their previous seven visits to Goodison Park in all competitions.

Looking at the bigger picture, Spurs have only lost three of their last 21 away games against Everton.

However, Everton beat Tottenham 1-0 earlier in the season, before the Toffees beat Spurs 5-4 in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Team news: Everton could be without as many as ten first-team players this Friday, with Yerry Mina, Fabian Delph and Abdoulaye Doucoure definitely unavailable.

As for Tottenham, left-back Ben Davies and right-back Matt Doherty are currently sidelined through injury.

There has been very little to separate Everton and Spurs this season, so a close match is expected on Friday.

Forebet predicts that Everton and Tottenham will produce a low-scoring draw at Goodison, although both teams are expected to score.
