Inter Milan will be seeking a 10th league win on the trot in Serie A when they play host to Sassuolo at their Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Wednesday night which in turn would see the hosts extend their lead at the summit of the Italian top flight to 11 points.
The hosts have been in supreme form under manager, Antonio Conte, as Inter have won nine games on the trot with six of these victories also being to nil so they look in good shape to not only grab another important three points here but also cover the -1.25 asian handicap line as well.
Inter have also produced an excellent sequence of results at home as they’ve won their last 10 matches on the bounce amidst an impressive home record which consists of 11 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat while the bigger picture shows that Inter have lost just two of their previous 28 matches.
In addition, Inter Milan have won two of the previous three meetings against Sassuolo and look set to add to their points tally here.
Sassuolo currently sit in 9th place and held Roma to a 2-2 draw at home on the weekend in Serie A which was a creditable point for Sassuolo but this also means that the visitors have managed to register just one win out of their last six matches overall.
That solitary win was achieved with a 3-2 home win over Hellas Verona but defeats against Udinese and Torino both away from home in recent weeks have contributed to Sassuolo losing ground on the teams above them.
It’s now likely that Sassuolo Calcio will have to make do with a top half finish in Serie A this season which would be considered a solid campaign for the visitors but if they’re to achieve this, Sassuolo will need to improve results away from home.
With just one win out of their last seven matches on the road, Sassuolo look to be up against it when they make their way to Milan to face an in-form Inter side, especially as the visitors have lost five of these last seven matches on their travels.
Defeats at Atalanta, Juventus, Lazio, Udinese and Torino do not bode well for Sassuolo here against a rampant Inter Milan outfit.
