After claiming three points from a possible six, North Macedonia find themselves third in Group J – level with fourth-place Romania.
Germany kicked off their World Cup qualifying campaign with an easy 3-0 victory over Iceland last week, thanks to goals from Leon Goretzka, Kai Havertz and Ilkay Gundogan.
On Sunday, Germany were made to work harder by Romania, but Joachim Low’s men still managed to claim a 1-0 win away from home.
Having enjoyed 67% possession and racked up 18 shots, there is no denying that Germany deserved to beat Romania.
As well as scoring four goals across their opening two WCQ matches, Germany have also kept two clean sheets along the way.
Looking at the bigger picture, Germany have only lost one of their last 15 matches in all competitions, with nine wins coming in that time.
Meanwhile, North Macedonia suffered a 3-2 loss to Romania on Matchday 1, despite levelling the score on 83 minutes.
But last time out, they secured an emphatic 5-0 victory over Liechtenstein, with Aleksandar Trajkovski netting his third goal in two WCQ games.
It is also worth noting that North Macedonia enjoyed 76% possession on Sunday, as well as registering 21 shots.
North Macedonia have now won four of their previous six games in all competitions, scoring over 1.5 goals on four occasions during that period.
In fact, they have only lost two of their last 12 outings, picking up seven wins and three draws in the process.
Head-to-head: Germany and North Macedonia have never faced each other before, meaning there are no previous results to analyze for this matchup.
Team news: Low kept the same starting XI for the wins over Iceland and Romania, although Germany are likely to field a changed line-up on Wednesday.
Tono Kroos and Niklas Sule are both injured, but Jamal Musiala is in line to make his full debut for Germany.
Trajkovski is Macedonia’s danger man, while Goran Pandev (Genoa) and Ezgjan Alioski (Leeds United) are worth keeping an eye on.
Germany are expected to make light work of North Macedonia and notch up three straight wins on Wednesday.
Forebet predicts that Germany will score over 2.5 goals and keep a clean sheet on their way to an easy victory over North Macedonia.
