Mongolia face another tough night at the office in their upcoming World Cup qualifier against Group F leaders, Japan, who possess a 100% winning record in the Asian section while the hosts have suffered five defeats on the trot heading into Tuesday night’s clash.

Mongolia had started their World Cup qualifying campaign in bright fashion though as the hosts had begun with a 1-0 home win over Myanmar but their joy was short-lived as they’ve since slumped to five defeats on the trot.

Losses home and away to Tajikistan along with defeats against Japan, Kyrgyz Republic and Myanmar have well and truly crushed any hopes of achieving a top two finish in Group F for Mongolia as they now sit bottom of the group and seven points adrift of 2nd placed Tajikistan with just two group matches remaining.

The bigger picture shows that Mongolia have managed to achieve just three wins in the World Cup qualifying phase in their short footballing history on the international stage out of a total of 22 matches.

Also, their previous meeting against Japan ended in a 6-0 humiliation.

Onto Japan and the ‘visitors’ actually hold home advantage at the Fukuda Denshi Arena in Chiba where the Blue Samurai will be seeking a fifth win on the trot in Group F which would all but seal their place into the next round of this Asian World Cup qualifying process.

Japan hold a two-point lead over 2nd placed Tajikistan who inflicted a 3-0 home win over Mongolia just a few days ago and Japan will be looking for a similar scoreline in this upcoming encounter no doubt.

Despite being a year and a half since their first batch of four group games which saw Japan record four wins on the trot, Japan will be in confident mood as they take up their impressive qualifying campaign again on Tuesday night on the back of victories over Myanmar, Mongolia, Tajikistan and Kyrgyz Republic.

They have produced a total of 13 goals for and zero goals in reply during that period.

Japan will therefore also be keen to extend their run of clean sheets in this group phase on Tuesday night and the bigger picture shows that Japan have lost just twice in their last 24 matches overall, making them hot favourites to make it five wins on the trot on Tuesday night.
