The European qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup continue this week and on Tuesday the 30th of March we have a meeting between Wales and Czech Republic.

Wales come into the game having suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Belgium in their opening fixture of the group. The match was played away from home and is regarded as the most difficult fixture Wales will face in the group.
The Welsh opened the scoring with a good goal but found themselves 2-1 down at half-time. The concession of a penalty in the 73rd minute ended any hopes of Wales taking something from the game.
That result ended a run of 5 matches without defeat for Wales and they have lost only 2 of their 16 most recent games. Wales played Mexico on Saturday night in a friendly at home and recorded a good 1-0 win over a team higher placed in the world rankings.

Czech Republic travel to Cardiff having been held to a 1-1 draw at home by Belgium. They would probably have taken a point before the match but having opened the scoring early in the second half, Czech Republic will be disappointed they did not take maximum points. They also had a good chance cleared off the line in the final minutes of the game.
This will be the third match in the group for Czech Republic as they travelled to Estonia in the first round of textures. Having fallen a goal behind, early in the game, Czech Republic responded superbly to score 6 goals without reply as Estonia fell apart. The hosts did manage to pull one goal back late in the game.
The draw against Belgium means Czech Republic are undefeated in their last 4 matches, including wins over Israel and Slovakia in the Nations League.
However, their away form is inconsistent and Czech Republic have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 7 games on the road.
Team news and Wales could restore Kieffer Moore to the starting XI in attack, alongside Gareth Bale and Daniel James. Ben Cabango may get the nod in central defence having played in the win over Mexico.
Czech Republic are likely to go with the same formation used against Belgium. Patrik Schick could return to the starting XI and Jiri Pavlenka may also start the game in attack.
This has the makings of being a close game as both teams will be hoping to finish in second place behind Belgium.
Wales usually score at home but struggle to get more than a single goal and this match could end in a 1-1 draw, which would be a good result for the Czech Republic.
