Young Boys will be hoping to turn things around on Thursday following a 3-0 win for Ajax in the first leg of their Europa League Round of 16 tie.

The Dutch side completely dominated the first leg, enjoying 67% and racking up 21 shots (nine or target).

On the flip side, Young Boys managed just one short and failed to register a single attempt on target, as goals from Davy Klaassen, Dusan Tadic and Brian Brobbey did the damage.

Before meeting Ajax in last week’s first leg, it’s safe to say that not a lot had gone wrong for Young Boys this season.

The Swiss side have only lost one of their 25 Super League games this term and already find themselves 17 points clear at the top of the table.

Young Boys even managed to knock out German heavyweights Bayer Leverkusen in the Round of 32, securing a 6-3 aggregate win.

However, the manner with which Young Boys caved in against Ajax last week suggest that they will struggle to get anything from the second leg.

Still, Young Boys can take confidence from the fact that they have won each of their last three home games in the Europa League.

Meanwhile, Ajax started the season in the Champions League, although they only managed to win two of their six group games.

After finishing four points behind second-place Atalanta and six points shy of Liverpool in Group D, Ajax dropped down into the Europa League.

Ajax’s domestic campaign is going to plan, however, as Erik ten Hag’s men have just two of their 25 Eredivisie games this term.

The Dutch powerhouse have won each of their last four Europa League games and will be confident of adding to that tally this week.

Head-to-head: Ajax’s only previous game against Young Boys last week, meaning there is only one previous result to assess for this fixture.

Team news: Young Boys will be without Esteban Petignat, David von Ballmoos, Mohamed Camara and Ulisses Garcia through injury on Thursday.

As for Ajax, they have Noussair Mazaoui and Daley Blind on the sidelines, while Andre Onana is serving a doping ban.

Given that Ajax totally dominated the first leg, anything other than an away win would be a big shock in the second leg.

Forebet predicts that Ajax will once again score over 2.5 goals on their way to victory over Young Boys.
