Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolverhampton Wanderers are unbeaten in three straight Premier League games. Although the goals are not flowing, Wolves have seen an uptick in form of late.

On Friday night, Leeds United arrive at Molineux seeking to end Wolves’ three-match unbeaten run. The Whites are coming off of a 4-2 loss to Arsenal on matchday 24.

Marcelo Bielsa’s team are one of the most inconsistent sides in the league, putting together wins before dropping several games in a row.

Leeds United collected nine points from their last 18 on offer and outscored opponents 10-9. Wolverhampton, on the other hand, allowed six goals while scoring six in their last six games in the league. They took eight points from 18 on offer.

Wolverhampton Wanderers claimed a 1-0 win away at Elland Road earlier this season thanks to a second half goal from Raul Jimenez. The goal came late in the game allowing Wolves to narrowly edge Leeds United.

Santo has three injuries to key players going into the weekend. Of course, Jimenez remains out due to the head injury he suffered versus Arsenal in November. Centre-back Willy Boly is ruled out of action with a thigh muscle strain. Daniel Podence is also ruled out with a muscle injury.

Bielsa’s injury list remains long heading into the weekend. The manager is still without summer signing Diego Llorente. His move to Leeds United has been nothing but an injury nightmare. Gaetano Berardi, Rodrigo, Adam Forshaw, Robin Koch, and Ian Poveda-Ocampo are all ruled out as well.

The manager could have the duo of Kalvin Phillips and Mateusz Klich back from their respective injury problems. Bielsa is likely to start leading scorer Patrick Bamford in attack. Bamford has scored 12 goals in 23 games while adding six assists.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have leaned on the quality of forward Pedro Neto. The 20-year-old Portugal player is tipped to leave Wolves at the end of the season and move to a “bigger” club.

Neto has stepped up in the absence of Jimenez and the sale of Diogo Jota to Liverpool. He has scored five goals and assisted four in 24 matches. Wolverhampton Wanderers do not score a lot of goals. They have tallied the fifth fewest in the Premier League with 25.

In spite of Wolves’ low-scoring, they should claim a victory this weekend at home against Leeds United. The Whites have a record of 6W-0D-6L on the road and a –2-goal difference.

Wolverhampton Wanderers should tally a victory with both teams finding the back of the net and over 2.5 goals.
