Real Betis kept their hopes of achieving a possible top six finish alive on the weekend when they registered a 2-1 win away from home at 6th placed Villarreal which reduced the points deficit on the top six pack to just three points ahead of this Friday night’s clash against Getafe.
With just one defeat out of their last seven matches overall, Real Betis have sustained their bid for a top six spot with their one loss being a narrow 3-2 loss at home to Barcelona but also picking up wins against Huesca, Celta Vigo, Osasuna and the aforementioned Villarreal win.

Real Betis have also lost just once in their last six matches at home as the hosts have been difficult to beat at their Estadio Benito Villamarín, and this upcoming fixture against 14th placed Getafe provides Manuel Pellegrini’s side the perfect opportunity to move level on points with Villarreal.
Real Betis midfielder, Canales (7 goals) is their leading goalscorer while forwards Fekir, Iglesias and Tello are also dangerous up front.
Getafe have found themselves dropping down the La Liga table in recent weeks following a poor run of results which has left the visitors without a league win from their last five matches overall in the Spanish top flight.
Four defeats out of these last five matches has resulted in Getafe to plummet down to 14th place in the La Liga standings following losses against Athletic Bilbao, Sevilla, Real Madrid and Real Sociedad, whilst picking up a point in a draw at home with 16th placed Deportivo Alaves.
This means that Getafe have picked up just the one point from the possible 15 on offer in this period and the visitors face another tricky outing on Friday night against a Real Betis outfit who are aiming for a spot in the top six of La Liga.
Getafe have managed to pick up just two wins on their road all season within an ordinary looking away record which stands at 2 wins, 3 draws and 6 defeats, scoring just 6 goals and conceding 8.
In addition to losing their last three away matches on the trot, the bigger picture shows that Getafe have won just twice out of their last 17 matches on their travels along with failing to score in 11 of these 17 as well, so they could struggle again at Real Betis.
