Cadiz set to frustrate La Real

This season started so well for Real Sociedad, as La Real were early pacesetters in La Liga. However, the team from San Sebastian have struggled for form of late and have dropped down to sixth place in the table.

That makes Sunday afternoon’s home clash with Cadiz vitally important, as Imanol Alguacil’s team look to revive their season.

La Real head into this game on the back of a four-game winless run in the Spanish top-flight. Last time out they drew 1-1 with top-six rivals, Villarreal. It was their third draw in their last four games in the Spanish top-flight. The poor run of form has left them seven points adrift of fourth-place Sevilla, having played a game more.

Surprisingly, Real Sociedad have struggled for wins at the Reale Arena of late, as they have failed to win in five home matches in La Liga. Cadiz have not been overawed by life in La Liga this season. However, the visitor's recent form has dipped badly, as they head into this clash on a three-game winless run. A 4-2 home defeat by league leaders Atletico Madrid last time out means that Alvaro’s team have picked up just one win in their last nine league matches.

After winning their first four away games of the season in La Liga, including beating reigning champions Real Madrid, Cadiz have gone on a six-game winless run on their travels. The visitors have had problems scoring on the road of late, scoring just once in their previous four away matches in the Spanish top-flight.
