Sevilla will be keen to further consolidate their position in the top four of the Spanish top flight on Saturday evening when they play host to Getafe at their Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán as the hosts look to close in on a top four finish and secure Champions League football for next season.
Sevilla certainly look to be in the driving seat ahead of this Saturday’s encounter having recorded three league wins on the trot with victories gained over Deportivo Alaves, Cadiz and Eibar.

The bigger picture shows that Sevilla have lost just one out of their last 10 matches in recent times.
That solitary defeat was handed to Sevilla on the road in a 2-0 loss at runaway league leaders, Atletico Madrid, but results on home turf at their Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán have been impressive this season.
Sevilla have won six of their nine matches at home to date and includes winning their last three on the trot with wins against 5th placed Villarreal, 6th placed Real Sociedad and Cadiz, while also winning the previous three meetings on the trot against Getafe.
Onto Getafe then, and the visitors picked up a point in a 0-0 draw at home with Deportivo Alaves in the weekend’s action in La Liga which in turn helped lift the visitors up into a mid-table position of 12th place on the Spanish top flight ladder.
However, the bigger picture shows that Getafe have had to endure a pretty lean spell of results in recent times as they’ve picked up just three wins out of their last 15 matches overall, and although two of these three wins were achieved away from home, these were at Cadiz and Elche who both sit in the lower half of La Liga.
Results away from home though have generally been pretty poor on Getafe’s behalf as the visitors have managed to pick up just two away wins out of their last 15 matches on their travels and have also suffered seven defeats in the process too.
One of the major catalysts behind Getafe’s poor results on the road is the fact that they’ve also failed to score in nine of these 15 away matches too and this could prove to be a decisive factor in the outcome of this clash at Sevilla.
