Next up in the Spanish top flight is a relegation battle between Deportivo Alaves and Real Valladolid with just two league places and just one point separating the two teams as they prepare to face off at the Estadio de Mendizorroza, with a precious three points at stake for both sides.
Although Deportivo Alaves avoided defeat on the weekend in La Liga with a 0-0 draw away from home at Getafe.

This only served to extend Alaves’s winless run in the domestic top flight to six matches overall which has left the hosts sitting third from bottom and in the relegation zone.
Deportivo Alaves have managed to collect just four wins in total in what has been a tough and disappointing campaign for the hosts in this season’s La Liga, while recording just two of these wins to date at their Estadio de Mendizorroza from the 11 home matches played so far this term.
Victories over Athletic Bilbao 1-0 and a 2-1 win over Eibar have simply not been enough for the hosts, but the goals (or lack of them) market appeals here; six of their 11 home matches have resulted in under 2.5 goals.
Real Valladolid also failed to win last time out in La Liga as they suffered a heavy 3-1 defeat at home to Huesca in La Liga which extended their run without a win to four matches which left the visitors sitting in 16th place and just one point above the relegation zone.
A 1-0 loss at home to Valencia along with back-to-back draws with Elche and Levante mean that Real Valladolid have picked up just two points out of the possible 12 on offer in recent weeks, so they too may struggle to achieve all three points in this upcoming clash at the Estadio de Mendizorroza.
Valladolid have also registered just four wins to date in this season’s La Liga campaign, two of which have been collected on their travels at Granada and Getafe, while goals overall have been in short supply when Valladolid have hit the road as well.
Indeed, seven of Valladolid’s 10 away matches so far this season have also resulted in under 2.5 goals while four out of the previous seven meetings between Alaves and Valladolid have also seen under three goals scored.
