On Wednesday night, Swansea and Brentford clash at the Liberty Stadium in what could be a massive game in the race for promotion to the Premier League.

With Norwich now looking set to run away with the title, the last automatic promotion spot in the Championship now looks even more valuable.

Both of these teams will believe they can clinch it. Swansea are currently in that last promotion berth, but Brentford would leapfrog the Welsh team with a victory and would still have a game in hand on their rivals at the top of the second tier table.

Both teams head into this big clash on the back of excellent runs in the Championship, as Swansea are unbeaten in five league outings, winning on four occasions, while the visitors have not suffered defeat in their previous 16 matches in the Championship.

The home side has built their promotion challenge on solid defensive foundations, as they have kept clean sheets in seven of their last nine matches in the second tier.

Brentford, on the other hand, have based their chances of Premier League football on their attacking play, as the Bees have scored at least two goals in three of their last four Championship matches.

Forward Ivan Toney has played a key part in Brentford’s attack this season scoring 16 times in 24 league outings.

Swansea have a strong recent home record in the second tier, as they are unbeaten in nine matches at the Liberty Stadium, having recorded six wins. Brentford are strong on their travels, though, as they have not suffered defeat in seven away matches in the Championship while picking up five victories.

These two teams will no doubt be up at the top of the table fighting it for promotion at the end of the season. However, Forebet cannot separate the pair and predicts a low-scoring draw.
